A Nepal production, whether a feature scene, a brand film, or a two-day music video, still moves through the same stages: development, pre-production, the shoot, and post-production. Skipping pre-production is how days disappear to a missing lens, an unavailable freelancer, or a studio that was never confirmed.
Development
Development is the idea, script or treatment, references, and a rough budget. Scriptwriters and directors often start here. If the brief is only “make it cinematic,” the rest of the crew cannot quote honestly.
Pre-production
Pre-production is crew, locations, equipment, schedule, and permissions. In Kathmandu that usually means locking a cinematographer or videographer, a producer, and a location (studio, residency, or outdoor), then renting the camera package that matches the look. CineGrid is built for this middle: freelancer profiles, gigs (portfolios), camera rental, buy & sell, and shooting locations.
Production
Production is the shoot: director, camera operator, gaffer, DIT if you have one, makeup, and whoever is recording sound. Keep a shot list and a gear list. If the budget does not fit, cut shots before you cut sound, media, or safety.
Post-production
Post is editorial, colour, sound design, music, motion graphics, and VFX. Most Nepal commercials are won or lost here. Hire a video editor and colorist whose gigs look like the job, then deliver on the codec the platform actually needs.
