A colorist (colourist) takes the locked cut and builds a consistent look: balancing shots, matching cameras, and pushing a grade that matches the director’s references. That is different from the video editor’s first pass in the NLE, though many Nepal editors also grade.
Send a colorist the timeline, camera originals or a proper proxy workflow, and still references. If the cinematographer shot log on an FX3 or FX6, say so. Hire from colorist gigs, not from a LUT pack screenshot.
